40's - 50's THEMED PHOTO SHOOT
I am very interested in doing a photo shoot this summer to build my portfolio. The inspiration came from watching The Notebook and all the late night walks I've taken in the down town area of Casa Grande, AZ (one of the small towns located between Phoenix and Tucson.) I've shot a video in this down town area before [Video Tab], but thought it would be really amazing to capture a few beautiful ladies dressed to impress in a wardrobe that blends with the background and matches the buildings' time.
I would like to instill in the photos, "Empowerment of women, no matter what figure or color", hence picking young women of all shapes, ethnicity and sizes. All women are beautiful and I want to express this through my work. Being a thicker woman myself, I want to give local women the chance to be a part of something bigger; a portfolio that I will be carrying for as long as my dream shall live.
A really good friend of mine is an amateur clothes designer and to the left is the first design he created. The color scheme for this photo shoot will be a simple red, white and black. I wanted the women's wardrobe to resemble the 40's, 50's pin-up style but also to have a modern touch in them. Hair and make-up will be done by another friend of mine; bold eyes, bright red lipstick, and pin-up hair styles with curls.
Now, I have access to a great camera, lights and all the needed equipment, along with someone to film our photo shoot. The only problem with making all of this possible is the funding for our clothes designer. As many of you reading might or might not know, designing any kind of clothes can be a bit expensive.
So we are asking for donations which will go directly to buying materials, shoes, make-up, and anything else our models would need to make the photos complete. We plan on having our shoot somewhere between the end of July & beginning of August. Any amount will help and be greatly appreciated.
